Q: Are all yoga classes the same?
A: There are many different styles of yoga classes being taught and practiced today. Although all of the styles are based on the same physical postures (called poses), each has a particular emphasis.
Q: How do I choose the class that is right for me?
A: Yoga is a journey and no two paths will be the same. If you have orthopedic or health concerns, we recommend that you start with a basic class first, learn how to adapt the practice specifically to your needs, and let your practice grow over time.
If you are fit and have no health considerations, try all of the classes on the schedule and discover what resonates with you. Remember, the practice may start on the mat, but it is a journey through life with the goal of helping us to become enlightened.
Q: How often can I do yoga?
A: You can do yoga everyday. The more often you come the sooner you will feel and see results. Remember yoga is a practice and a discipline so it”s best to try and set a goal for yourself and come regularly
Q: Do I need my own mat?
A: While we do have loaner mats, we highly recommend that if you intend to practice yoga regularly you get your own mat. Not only is it more hygenic, but it is also your sacred practice space.
Q: How long is a class?
A: Classes rangle from 1hour to 1.5 hours.
Q: What should I wear?
A: You should wear whatever is comfortable for you to work out in, make sure you are able to tuck in your shirt if it is baggy. You may also wish to bring a sweat shirt to cover up for the final relaxation at the end of class.
Q: Why shouldn’t I learn Yoga from a DVD?
A: Yoga isn’t just about the poses! Traditionally, the practice of yoga requires a teacher student relationship. This is becuase the teacher is able to correct your alignment both physical and energetic, help you modify or adjust poses for your specific needs, and will teach you about yoga philospohy as well.
Q: I have a bad back, can yoga help?
A: Yoga may help. You should check with your doctor before beginning yoga, or any other workout program. Start with a gentle yoga class or basics class and speak with the teacher prior to class letting them know about your specific issues. Feel free to call us with questions so we can steer you into a class that is right for you.

Yoga is the natural state, the origin of truth, beauty, eternal happiness, and bliss. In the practices of Yoga our resistance to this natural state of bliss and our attachment to the world of forms and senses is made apparent. When we feel limitation in the body or the mind while practicing yoga we are afforded the opportunity to concentrate on our true nature, which is love itself, beyond limitation. ~David Life
